Using multiple product barcodes
If your supplier uses different barcodes for the same product, you can store multiple barcodes for a product in Retail Express (so you can still find your product regardless of which barcode you scan).
Adding Multiple Barcodes
To add an additional barcode:
- Edit a product using Product Search & Management or the Product PLU look up box (top right-hand corner of Back Office)
- Click the Barcodes tab
- Scan or type the Barcode into the blank field
Note: The Barcode needs to be unique i.e the same code cannot be used for more than one product - Click Enter or the + symbol
- The new barcode will be added to the list
Notes:
- You can have a maximum of 20 barcodes per product
- You will still be required to enter a Supplier SKU barcode for your product (this is the main code used to display in reports etc)
- Creating products via an API will be validated to ensure the barcode doesn't conflict with any additional Barcodes in Retail Express
- To use a barcode against another product you will need to delete the barcode (disabling will just prevent the code from being scanned)
