Using SkyLink, you can map information (and match fields) from the web store through to Retail Express, and vice versa.
For example: you could choose to map the "Brands" attribute from Retail Express to the"Manufacturer" attribute in Magento. Going the other way, you could choose a particular payment method to be either the specific one in Retail Express, or simply "Online", depending on your preferences.
To configure settings, navigate to: Stores > SkyLink > Mappings.
The various items to configure are as follows:
Allows you to match your various Retail Express attributes with a corresponding attribute within Magento. As data is sent from Retail Express it will populate using the appropriate attribute in Magento.
Using Product Types from Retail Express, map these to the Attribute Sets in Magento.
An Attribute Set allows you to make a "template" of attributes for your products. Example: some products may not require the attribute 'colour' so you may wish to create a separate Attribute Set for those products. As your products are created online, they'll be created with only the relevant attributes.
Important Note: once you have created your product against an attribute set, Magento prevents you from changing the set. It's important to think about the structure of your attribute sets in advance. You can add/remove attributes to the set, but you're unable to change the set itself.
Warning: if you delete an attribute set, the Products will also be deleted from your webstore and would need to be recreated
Your different payment methods online need to be mapped/matched to a corresponding Payment Type in Retail Express. This allows the system to allocate the payment, so that it appears in the correct format for reporting on your store.
Note: If you don't associate the payment method with a match in Retail Express your sales will be synchronised as "Awaiting Payment", and no total paid value is updated against the invoice. If this occurs, you need to manually enter the payment amount using POS in Retail Express.
